  9. 2 tablespoons of dehydrated onion
  10. 1 Worcester sauce
  11. 1 can (32 ounces) of beef broth
  12. 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  13. 2 tablespoons of butter
  14. 1 teaspoon of thyme
  15. 1/2 cup fresh parsley [possibly added]
  16. 1 large bay leaf
  17. Bread
  18. 1 thick loaf [toast of your choice]
  19. Fresh croutons
  20. Thickening broth [flour or starch]
  21. 4 tablespoons of flour
  22. 2 tablespoons of corn starch [+ 1 tablespoon of water]

How To Make Mushroom And Onion Soup Mike NO

  1. Add the butter, olive oil, onion, garlic, thyme, Lipton onion soup packets and 1/2 glass of white wine to the heated pot. Cook for about 3 minutes or until the onion turns translucent. Be careful not to burn the garlic. Cover and sweat it for 5 minutes
  2. Add the flour and another 1/2 glass of wine and mix with the onion mixture. Thicken the soup with this mixture. Note that you will need a little more oil.
  3. Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth. Half or a quarter of your mushrooms; depending on their size. You want your halves or wedges to be quite large and meaty. Add the mushrooms to the pan and mix. Cover the onion mixture and steam for 3 minutes. Move regularly.
  4. Add everything else [except the bread, cornstarch or garlic cloves kept aside] to the pan and cook for 30 minutes.
  5. Crispy toasted bread, 2.5 cm thick. You'll definitely crave thick or heavy bread with this soup. While your bread is still warm, spread fresh garlic cloves on your crusty bread and watch them melt! That's all. Nothing more. The thick slices of garlic bread are just for dipping in the soup.
  6. If you want to thicken the soup, try cornstarch. Mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water. Mix well. Add 1/2 to the pot and mix well. Leave on the fire for 1 minute. Add the second part if necessary.
  7. Add fresh parsley about 45 seconds before serving. Remove the bay leaf.
  8. Serve hot with warm garlic bread or fresh croutons. You don't want to run out of bread, so if you have to. Have a good time!
